Regular Season Schedule
In 2007, we played for the first time with only 10 teams as Check It Out!!, Skullduggery, TD’s, and Oh Yeea! left the league. Once again, we played only a 13 week regular season with teams divided into two divisions. The top 6 teams advanced to the Fantasy Bowl with the remaining 4 teams going to the Toilet Bowl to face the first round losers in from the Fantasy Bowl in week #15.
#3 Notorious C.H.A.D. won the Fantasy Bowl for the first time over #5 Gangsta’s Paradise while the #1 and #2 teams, Rufus Dave’s and Purple Passion, met for the third place game, which Rufus won.
In the Toilet Bowl bracket, #9 Chocolate New Orleans won the title in just his first Toilet Bowl appearance. #4 Tomfoolery fell short in the title game after dropping to the Toilet Bowl from the Fantasy Bowl. #6 Drowned Rats took third place over #10, White Bear Bears.
In the Week #17 Challenge, Gangsta’s Paradise prevailed by only 3 points over Purple Passion. |

Regular Season Schedule
We played with 14 teams in 2005 welcoming back Rufus Dave's and Web Runners. With the new number of teams, we played only a 13 week regular season with everyone playing in one division. The top 6 teams advanced to the Fantasy Bowl with the remaining 8 teams going to the Toilet Bowl
For the second year in a row, Domintion Combination (#3 seed) fell short in the title game -- this time to #5 Corpses 'R' Us, the 2004 Toilet Bowl Champion. Third place went to the #2 seed, Purple Passion, over the #1 seed, Oh Yeea!
In the Toilet Bowl bracket, the #8 seed, Tomfoolery, beat #10 Gangsta's Paradise for the championship while #14 Drowned Rats won the 3rd place game for the second year in a row outlasting #9 Web Runners.
With the championship games taking place in week #16 of the NFL season, we had a new contest in week #17 with all teams competing for 10% of the pot. Tomfoolery won the prize by a 19-point margin. |

The league size again remained at 12 teams as Notorious C.H.A.D. rejoined the league as Maddog and Web Runners took a year off due to a draft day conflict.
In perhaps the most storied rivalry in league history, Domination Combination and Purple Passion, seeds #4 and #3 respectively, met for the Fantasy Bowl title with PP prevailing, as usual, by 3 points. PP's post-season record vs. DC improved to 5-1. Third place went to #1 seed Fat, Drunk & Stupid over #2 seed Skullduggery.
In the Toilet Bowl bracket, the #9 seed Corpses 'R' Us beat #7 Check It Out!! for the championship while #10 Drowned Rats beat #8 TD's in the 3rd place game.

The league size remained at 12 teams as "Tyrell, when is da next, Dancing Nancies, The Harbingers, and Notorious C.H.A.D. left the league while three former franchises, Check It Out!!, TD's, and Oh Yeea!, rejoined the league and newcomer Fat, Drunk, & Stupid also came aboard.
For the second straight season (and only the second time in league history), the #1 seed entering the playoffs has won the league championship as Check It Out!! became a first-time champion by winning over last year's champion, Gangsta's Paradise. In the 3rd place game, #6 seed Domination Combination finally ended the season with a win by overcoming a depleted #5 seed, Oh Yeea!. This marked the first season since 1997 that Domination Combination and Purple Passion didn't face each other in the playoffs and also marked the 8th straight season that Domination Combination played in the Fantasy Bowl Playoffs.
In the Toilet Bowl bracket, the #9 seed Fat, Drunk, & Stupid beat #11 Corpses 'R' Us for the championship while #8 Skullduggery beat #7 TD's in the 3rd place game.
2003 was likely the most competitve season in league history as only a couple games separated the top from the bottom in the standings for most of the season. |

The league size bumped up to 12 teams again as Tomfoolery, Dancing Nancies, Corpses 'R' Us, "Tyrell, when is da next, and Skullduggery joined the league while Rufus Dave's exited.
For the first time in league history, the #1 seed entering the playoffs has won the league championship as Gangsta's Paradise captured it's first title since 1998 by beating the 2000 champion, Purple Passion. Gangsta's Paradise is now an impressive 12-4 in postseason play while Purple Passion has the 2nd most postseason wins with a record of 11-4. The title capped a story-book season by the Gangsta's that contained only one loss all year. That loss to Drowned Rats in week #11 was avenged as the Gangsta's beat the Rats in the Fantasy Bowl semi-final round. In the 3rd place game, #2 seed Tomfoolery upended the #6 seed Drowned Rats.
In the Toilet Bowl bracket, the top seed also prevailed as #7 Skullduggery captured the crown over #8 Corpses 'R' Us while "Tyrell, when is da next took 3rd place over Notorious C.H.A.D. |

Regular Season Schedule
The league size remained at 8 teams with The Harbingers (Josh Garvais) replacing Loony Toons (Eric Wetterlind). For the first time in league history (since 1995 did not have playoffs), a rookie franchise captured the Fantasy Bowl Championship as The Harbingers defeated Notorious C.H.A.D. (Chad Oblander), the runner-up for the second consecutive season.
The Toilet Bowl introduced a changed format where the two losing teams from the first round of the Fantasy Bowl play the following week in the Toilet Bowl against the #7 and #8 teams. As expected, the original Fantasy Bowl teams won in the first round and faced off for the Toilet Bowl crown with Purple Passion (Brian Brettin) grabbing the prize from Web Runners (Matt Moses).
The third place game featured the same match-up as 2000, this time with Rufus Dave's (Dave Schaaf) winning over Scoregasm (Brenden Schaaf). |

The BFFL was back to its original size of 8 teams in 2000. Many owners, including all but two of the remaining founding members, failed to apply for membership before the deadline in the summer and the league size was set by the time they came around.
After 2 consecutive 3rd place finishes, Randle's Wrecking Crew (Brian Brettin) captured the league championship with a victory over Notorious C.H.A.D. (Chad Oblander). The Toilet Bowl crown was captured by Gangsta's Paradise (Katie Schaaf) over Drowned Rats (Scott Fischer), who captured the runner-up spot for the second time in three years. The third place game matched up two former Fantasy Bowl Champions with Scoregasm (Brenden Schaaf) edging Rufus Dave's (Dave Schaaf). |

The league was reduced to 16 teams with several veteran teams, including two founding members, not returning. The addition of Loony Toons and The Beer Wolf rounded out the league. Interestingly enough, both of these teams won their respective divisions.
Only minor changes to the rules were made during the offseason, with the biggest changes being the return of the TE requirement and the serpentine draft as opposed to redrawing draft position before every odd round.
In the playoffs, the defending champion, Gangsta's Paradise (Katie Schaaf), was knocked out in round one as was prior three-time champion, Scoregasm (Brenden Schaaf) setting the stage for the crowning of Rufus Dave's (Dave Schaaf), a team that started the year 1-7, as Fantasy Bowl Champion. Loony Toons (Eric Wetterlind) was runner-up having gone 11-3 in the regular season in its rookie year. The fourth year franchise, Web Runners (Matt Moses), picked up its first postseason win ever in week one of the Toilet Bowl and a fifth year team, TD's, picked up the Toilet Bowl title capping week 17 with a victory for the first time in franchise history. Randle's Wrecking Crew once again finished third, this time over The Beer Wolf (Dave Conrad & Adam Stapleton). |

The league continued the expansion to 24 teams with two 12-team drafts. The veteran franchise, Sweet T's, was a no-show on draft day so we once again were forced to use the "Bye Team" method employed in 1996 for the Frostbite Conference.
In the playoffs, three-time defending champion, Scoregasm (Brenden Schaaf), was knocked out in round one. This paved the way for the strong wild-card team of Gangsta's Paradise (Katie Schaaf) to edge out Oh Yeea! (Tom Stephani) in the first Fantasy Bowl title game appearance for both. In the Toilet Bowl, Kris Kross (Chris Kerwin) emerged victorious over Drowned Rats (Scott Fischer). Randle's Wrecking Crew (Brian Brettin) picked up third place over Hail Marys (Dave Brooks). |

As the league expanded to 16 teams, it was named "Blackice Fantasy Football League" to establish a unique presence on the internet. We held two 8-team drafts and inter-conference play was limited to the final week of the playoffs. The website was improved dramatically and earned a website design award from Global Fantasy Football Leagues.
DomCombo (Brenden Schaaf) defeated Mich Golden (Dan Tousignant) for his third consecutive league title while Gangsta's Paradise (Katie Schaaf) edged out Check It Out!! (Shawn Robideau) for third place. In the Toilet Bowl, the sixth seed Lightenings took out the fifth seed Bearded Clams (Tom Morin) for the championship. |

The league expanded to twelve teams and introduced a league website. One owner was a no-show on draft day, so we were forced to play the year with a "Bye Team" whose score was computed based on the average score of the other teams in the league.
This was only one of many changes for the new season. The rules were modified to allow for negative points for interceptions thrown and free agent transactions via a bidding process still used today. This made the league more competitive and gave even non-competitive teams a chance to improve.
1996 also introduced the Fantasy Bowl and Toilet Bowl playoffs. The three week format would allow for continued play in NFL weeks 15-17. TDs and Bearded Clams won the first round bye for the Fantasy Bowl, but neither could parlay this advantage into a sucessful title run. The Fantasy Bowl crown went to sixth seed, Domination Combination (Brenden Schaaf) over top seed TDs while the Toilet Bowl title was captured by Oh Yeea! (Tom Stephani). Third place went to Mich Golden (Dan Tousignant) over Bearded Clams (Tom Morin). |

The league was formed by commissioner, Brenden Schaaf, as an 8-team league mostly amongst coworkers at SuperAmerica #4321 in Blaine, MN. Five of the eight team owners were employed there, with the remaining three teams filled out by friends and family members.
All owners were first time fantasy footballers so the year was quite a learning experience. Because no player transactions were allowed, several teams were decimated by injuries that happened as early as the preseason.
The rules did not allow for playoffs so the league was limited to a 14-week regular season. Commissioner Brenden Schaaf emerged as the league champion with Mike Dunbar finishing one game back. |
